DESIGN QUALITY CONTROL PLAN

(DQC PLAN)

 

 

I. GENERAL PROJECT INFORMATION:

            This DQC Plan submitted in accordance with Specification Section 01 45 00.05 20 of the project specifications, the Request For Proposal, Prime’s Proposal and the Award Documents.

 

            A. This plan contains the Quality Control process to be used during the Design Phase of this project. The List of Appendixes below presents the documents being used in our QC Process.

            B. It also presents the Design organization, relationships and responsibilities of the team members and reporting requirements.

            C. Interactions of Design QC Manager with the Prime Contractor’s Construction QC Manager are presented here in.    

            D. Further, this DQC Plan has been coordinated with AIA Handbook 201 to ensure the designer of record retains complete responsibility for the design and follows applicable standards for the Design.

 

 

II. DQC ORGANIZATIONAL CHART:

Appendix “A” is a chart showing the DQC organization and includes:

A. The relationship of the DQC organization to other elements of the Prime Contractor’s company.

B. The relationship of the DQC Manager to Design Firm’s officer(s), various disciplines, to outside organizations, and to the General Contractor Personnel.

C. The subordinate relationship of the DQC manager to the QC Manager for reporting purposes.

 

 

 

III. NAME, QUALIFICATIONS AND DUTIES OF THE DQC MANAGER:

A. (insert name) will be the DQC Manager. (See Appendix “B” for resume)

 

B. DQC Manager is (insert one or more :a registered professional engineer or an architect) in the state of (insert state) which is the same state where the construction is to be performed) and has ( insert # of years) years experience as required by the Contract.

 

  1. DQC Manager must attend:

1. Preparatory and initial phases of KEY Definable Features for Work (DFOW) (See Item X below)

2. Punch-out inspection.

3. Final inspection

 

 

 

IV. NAME, QUALIFICATIONS AND DUTIES OF THE ALTERNATE DQC MANAGER:

 

 

A. (insert name) will be the Alternate DQC (ADQC) Manager.

 

B. ADQC Manager is (insert one or more a registered professional engineer or an architect) in the state of (insert state). Must be the same state where the construction is to be performed. (See Appendix “B” for Resume’)

C. ADQCM has ( insert # of years) years experience as required by the Contract. ADQC shall assume role of in absence of the DQC Manager.

 

 

V. DESIGN ORGANIZATIONS:

 

            Appendix “C” is listing of outside organizations, such as Architectural, Engineering and consulting firms, that will be used by the Designer and/or Prime Contractor. The listing includes a description of the work, services to be performed, and point of contact information for each.

 

 

VI. APPOINTMENT LETTERS:

 

Appointment letters, signed by an officer of the firm, appointing the DQC Manager and the Alternate DQC Manager are in Appendix“D” and include the following:
